Dr. Alison Smoller is double board certified and is an expert in the field of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Smoller received her medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO. She completed her internship and residency in General Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. After completing fellowship in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at New York University Medical Center, she joined Children’s Specialized Hospital where she worked for five years. In 2013 she opened her own private practice, Developmental Pediatrics of Central Jersey and is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Smoller is also a consultant for the New Jersey State Board of Education - Avon, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Eatontown, East Brunswick, Freehold, Hillsborough, Holmdel, Jefferson, Manalapan, Manasquan, Marlboro, Middletown, Millstone, Rumson, Spring Lake Heights, Tinton Falls, and Toms River school districts. 


Her dedication and success in pediatrics has gained her admission as a member of many prestigious associations. Dr. Smoller holds membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Ambulatory Pediatrics Association, the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Autism Speaks, CHADD, and Autism NJ. She is a board member of Jaden's Voice, a nonprofit advocacy organization for individuals diagnosed with autism and their families. She has been honored as the recipient of the Pediatric Academic Society Travel Award in 2008. Her abstracts have been published in both the United States and Canada for her research in behavioral and developmental disorders. She was voted a Jersey Choice Top Doctor by New Jersey Monthly Magazine years 2014 - 2018. She was also named Castle Connolly's Regional Top Doctors of 2013 and Castle Connolly's Top Doctors: New York Metro Area of 2015.

Morgan Sabins, APN

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Monmouth County, NJ

Morgan Sabins is a knowledgeable and passionate Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a strong record of dedication, work and advocacy for special pediatric populations. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Villanova University, College of Nursing. Following graduation, Morgan distinguished herself as a compassionate, hard-working and driven Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Duke University Hospital. While continuing to serve in these roles, Morgan pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill including clinical rotations in pediatric primary care and adolescent specialty care. Also during this time, Morgan served as Contributing Author and Co-Editor for the book, Pediatric Case Studies To Develop Diagnostic Reasoning. Morgan is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Having been born and raised at the Jersey Shore, Morgan was eager to return to New Jersey as she began her own family. With a lifelong interest in providing nurturing, informed and supportive care of children, Morgan was also eager to join Dr. Smoller and Developmental Pediatrics of Central Jersey where her knowledge, skills, and experience positively impact the lives of the children and families she serves.

Steven Padula, APN

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Monmouth County

Steven obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Staten Island. With this degree Steven knew he wanted to help those struggling with mental health issues. Steven then entered into the accelerated bachelor’s degree of Nursing at NYU. While in nursing school he knew he wanted to focus his career in the field of psychiatry. After graduation, he worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit in Staten Island. While there, Steven gained ample knowledge of the field and how to care for those with mental illness.  Steven decided he wanted to return to school to advance his knowledge and skills in treating those with mental illness. While continuing to work as an RN, he attended Monmouth University for his psychiatry mental health nurse practitioner degree.  He then worked in a psychiatric private practice, where he gained valuable knowledge in treating children and adolescents with mental health concerns.  Steven has also worked for schools administering threat assessments for their students.  In addition to his well rounded background in psychiatry, Steven's empathy and compassion for his patients are the foundation of his success.
